Harrisburg rides hot start to victory

Erie, PA – The Harrisburg Senators got off to a big start Wednesday at Jerry Uht Park and rode it to a 7-2 win over the Erie SeaWolves. RHP Zack Segovia fired six strong innings to pick up the win.

The Senators jumped on Erie LHP Danny Christensen in the top of the 1st. Mike Daniel and Ian Desmond hit back-to-back singles to lead off the game and Seth Bynum drilled a three-run homer. Five pitches into the game, the Senators led 3-0. After two outs were recorded, Devin Ivany reached on an infield single, stole second base and scored on Bill Rhinehart’s RBI double, pushing the lead to 4-0

The SeaWolves came back with a run in the bottom of the 1st. Deik Scram and Ryan Roberson had two-out hits and Jeff Frazier followed with an RBI single to make it 4-1.

Erie scored again when Ryan Roberson hammered a low line drive over the left-field wall for a solo homer, pulling the SeaWolves to a 4-2 deficit.

In the 5th, the Senators tacked on insurance runs. With runners at second and third and nobody out, Marvin Lowrance bounced an RBI groundout and two batters later, Ivany reached on an RBI infield single to make it 6-2.
